The Nissan Qashqai is probably not the car that comes to mind when you say ‘fastest SUV in the world’. However, the folks at Severn Valley Motorsport have something to say about this. They went ahead and created an absolutely mind-blowing ‘Qashqai-R’ to beat the hell out of the current record, and it worked!
This 2000hp monster is currently the ‘fastest SUV in the world’ with a 237.8 mph (382.7 kph) top speed, beating the previous record set by a similar-powered Toyota Land Cruiser.

Nissan Qashqai R- About the SUV
Severn Valley Motorsport is a tuning company based in United States which upgrades Nissan GT-Rs. The Qashqai R is one of their pet projects, mating a heavily tuned GT-R engine to a stripped down first generation Qashqai body.
This same SUV first came to the limelight in 2013 as a 1100 hp monster. It has since undergone host of upgrades, including a new turbo kit, to bring up the power to the all-important 2000bhp mark.
Where was the record set?
The new record was set at the VMax 200 event on a private two-mile highway. It was also the fastest car at the event too, beating the likes of Koenigsegg Agera RS, One:1, Lamborghini Huracan and Mclaren 720S. Realistically speaking though, some of these cars could have bettered their numbers.
